It is O.K. for what I paid for. (about $1000 used)
I got this bass becaused I ahd to move to a smaller place where I can ot keep my real upright. I did not get this bass as a replacment for the real upright because it is imposible to produced the real upright sound by this kind of basses. I wanted to keep my upright chops. However, this is a good sounding bass. It has a thick ebony fingerboad and it helps the bass to make good sounds.
